Dearest Apostles, we hold the memory of our days spent in Fiuggi close to our hearts. We experienced many, many moments of grace, consolation and mercy. Many of us were physically present and many more were together with us spiritually, thanks to their prayers.

The Congress began with the Eucharistic celebration, presided by Mons. Domenico Sigalini, bishop of Palestrina, followed by the adoration of the Eucharist guided by Don Gabriele Ghinassi.

On Saturday the 7^th of February, we started the day with an animated hymn of the community of the Children of Divine Love who looked after all the musical moments at the Congress. Immediately after, we listened to the talk by Fr Urbano Pittiglio ofm, founder of the mission in Itirucu’ (Brasile, state of Bahia). After this, we listened to the beautiful words of Fr. Antonio Furtado from the community of Shalom, created thanks to the inspiration of its founder, Sig. Moises Azevedo. Holy Mass was celebrated by Don Giovanni D’Ercole, who asked to renew his commitment made the previous year with the “Apostles of Divine Mercy”, to spiritually adopt a priest and to accompany him in prayer for the entire year. In the afternoon, at 3.00p.m., we recited the Rosary of Divine Mercy. It was a very intense and powerful moment of prayer in which intercession was given to the persons agonizing, desperate and to those who refuse or, worse, scorn the Love of God, His forgiveness and His Mercy. After the Rosary we listened to the catechesis presented by Father Francesco M.Rizzo, spiritual assistant and founder of the Association, who outlined the main points of the spirituality of the Apostles of Divine Mercy, beginning with the encyclical “Dives in Misericordia” by John Paul II. Following the catechesis, we received the grace of having Marija Pavlovic, godmother of the Association. At the end of her very beautiful speech, we gathered in prayer, recited the Holy Rosary and at 5.45p.m. Marija had the apparition of the Madonna that has continually taken place for her over the past 27 years and 8 months. During the encounter with the Queen of Peace she entrusted all the apostles and their intentions of prayer to Our Lady. Our Lady blessed us with Her motherly presence. We will never be able to thank Our Lord and His Mother enough for this period of grace and of mercy which our generation has been experiencing for such a long time. May Our Lady help us so that fruits may be borne within us and through us.

The adoration of the Eucharist then began under the guidance of Fr. Francesco. There were around 3000 believers in the congregation gathered around Jesus Eucharist. The prayers were particularly intense and the Holy Spirit acted upon the open hearts, giving spiritual healing in order to strengthen the path of faith. The Adoration finished off with the blessing of the Eucharist. More than thirty priests were present. That evening at 9.00 p.m. we went to Pala Terme di Fiuggi, for an enjoyable, thoughtful musical moment. The performance was carried out by the Community of the Children of Divine Mercy, with the participation of Benedetta, who danced to the theme of the seven sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the theme of Mercy. The show was successful and was much enjoyed also thanks to the sincere and transparent joy aroused in the audience.

Once the performance was over, we had another encounter with Marija Pavlovic who, with great openness and generosity, answered some of the questions put to her.

On Sunday 8^th February, we met up at the Pala Terme for the final celebration of the Congress, presided by Fr. Francesco. We prepared ourselves at Holy Mass for the meeting with the Holy Father, for the Marian prayer at the Angelus which took place at Piazza San Pietro, where we went following the Eucharistic celebration. Our joy burst out into a roar when we were received by Pope Benedetto XVI and his greetings. These greetings gave us further encouragement to continue the path already chosen, to spread the message of Divine Mercy to men and women of today, supported by the maternal presence of our Mother Mary, Queen of Peace.

Next year we shall meet up at Assisi, for the fourth Congress of Apostles. We will let you know the dates of the Congress, through the web-site and the newsletter.
